The Lycra

Technically speaking

LYCRA© can be stretched four to seven times its initial length, yet springs back to its original length once tension is released.

In the fibre's natural state, the soft chains lie in tangled disorder.

Under tension, the chains straighten out while always straining to return to their natural tangled state.

LYCRA© contributes its amazing elastic properties to all types of fabric from sturdy denim and garbardine to fluid jersey and gossamer cripe de chine. The degree and direction of elasticity depend on how much LYCRA© is used and how it is knitted or woven into the fabric.
